Black Adam’s Origin!
Black Adam was originally known as Teth Adam or Theo Adam. He is from and also rules over the Middle East fictional country Khandaq located near Egypt and Palestine. At first, Black Adam was a one-time villain appearing in the comic, The Marvel Family #1.
Although Black Adam was a formidable opponent, the marvel family eventually defeated him by tricking him into saying Shazam! Once Adam said Shazam, he turned to human form and aged rapidly to the point of death. Leaving him just skull and bones.
Little did the marvel family know, this was not the last of Black Adam!
After being reduced to nothing but bones, Black Adam returned as a recurring character 30 years later when DC got the rights to Captain Marvel and started writing the marvel family stories under the “Shazam” title.
Black Adams Powers & Abilities
Adam is practically an evil copy of Captain Marvel, aka Shazam! Here is the list of all of his powers and abilities!
- Stamina & Invulnerability from the god Shu
- Speed & Flight from the god Horus
- Superhuman Strength from the god Amon
- Genius level intellect from the god Zehuti
Side note: How do you have genius-level intellect and get tricked into saying Shazam knowing that is the only way you can be defeated?
- The control and ability to create magical Lightning and Thunder from the god Aten
- The courage and hand to hand combat skills of Mehen
- Longevity
The Future of Black Adam
As you know, Black Adam will be making his big-screen debut in the summer of 2022, played by the one and only Dwayne Johnson! With the success that Shazam had, I am beyond excited for this movie to come out! I think DC is finally taking the proper steps towards cinematic success and earning the capability to compete with the MCU.
Currently, Shazam is carrying DC on his shoulders, and with the addition of this bad*** villain known as Black Adam, we have a lot to look forward to! All I hope is that they don’t kill off Adam immediately.
